If we got it wrong, we'll make it right.
Our descriptions are thorough on purpose. If something still doesn't match what was listed, we stand behind it.
Our Standard Before the Sale
Every listing includes an honest condition summary — dial integrity, case wear, crystal condition, crown function, movement accuracy, and any known parts replacements. We photograph what matters and describe what the photos don't show.
Our goal is zero surprises. That means if a watch needs a service, we say so. If a lume pip has been replaced, it's in the listing. If we're uncertain about a component's originality, that uncertainty is disclosed — not hidden. Thorough descriptions protect both sides.
What Qualifies for a Return
We accept returns within 3 days of confirmed delivery when the watch substantially misrepresents what was listed. Valid reasons include:
- A condition defect that was not disclosed in the listing (cracked dial, non-original movement, undisclosed damage)
- Authenticity concerns — a watch that is not what it was represented to be
- A significant functional issue not mentioned in the listing
- The wrong item was shipped
If any of these apply, contact us immediately. We will respond within 24 hours and work through it directly.
What Doesn't Qualify
To be straightforward with you — returns are not accepted for the following:
- Buyer's remorse. Changed your mind, found a better deal, decided you don't love it — these are not returnable conditions.
- Condition issues that were disclosed. If the listing noted a scratched crystal, a repainted dial, or case wear, those are not grounds for return.
- Subjective preference. Color appearing slightly different on your screen than in photos, size feeling different on wrist than expected — this is the nature of vintage.
- Damage caused after delivery. We can't accept returns for watches that have been worn, adjusted, or handled post-delivery and subsequently damaged.
- Returns initiated after 3 days. The window is firm. If you need more time to decide, reach out to us before you buy.
How to Start a Return
If you believe your purchase qualifies, here's the process:
- Contact us at email@deathanddials.com or via the contact form within 3 days of confirmed delivery. Include your order details and a clear description of the issue.
- We'll respond within 24 hours to confirm eligibility and provide return shipping instructions. Do not ship anything back before receiving confirmation.
- Pack the watch securely in the original packaging materials if available. The watch must be returned in the same condition it was received.
- Ship with tracking and insurance. Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the error was ours.
We inspect all returns upon arrival. If the return is validated, we process your refund promptly.
Refunds
Approved refunds are issued via the original payment method within 3–5 business days of receiving and inspecting the returned watch. We'll confirm receipt and notify you when the refund is processed.
Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (wrong item shipped, significant undisclosed defect). Return shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
eBay & Whatnot Purchases
Orders purchased through eBay or Whatnot are subject to those platforms' buyer protection policies in addition to ours. On eBay, you can open a case through their resolution center if needed — though we strongly prefer direct communication first. Most issues are resolved faster that way.
If you purchased on Whatnot during a live drop, the same direct contact process applies. Reach out and we'll handle it personally.
Questions Before You Buy
If you have any hesitation about a watch's condition, originality, or fit for your collection before purchasing — ask. We'd rather answer 10 questions before the sale than deal with a return after it. Message us on Instagram or use the contact form. You'll get a direct answer, not a template response.
